John Bolton

What's with his mustache? Why doesn't he just shave it off? It just looks ridiculous.

(I know I'm petty; but everytime I see him I think that he just looks foolish)

Nothin'

Well...I've pretty much got nothing. Can't summon up a single interesting thing to post about so instead I will give you a picture of my cute son to stare at instead.

Probably much nicer than any kind of inane thing I could dream up anyway.

Balloons

Yes. We live in Albuquerque. Yes. We see balloons in the air just about every day.

Wishy washy? Or balanced...you decide...

I found this at Green Card Bride:

Your Political Profile

Overall: 45% Conservative, 55% Liberal
Social Issues: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal
Personal Responsibility: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal
Fiscal Issues: 75% Conservative, 25% Liberal
Ethics: 0% Conservative, 100% Liberal
Defense and Crime: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal

The above, though, reflects my answers, not hers. Kind of what I expected. I have always thought I was a conservative fiscally and a liberal socially.

The problem with these kinds of 'tests' though is that so many of the answers do not call for a black or white answer. There were many that I looked at and thought, 'I don't agree with either of these.'

Oh well, it was kind of an interesting exercise anyway.

I love you

My beautiful little boy said "I love you" for the first time last week. As a matter of fact, he said it three times. The first two times, he said it to his daddy ('I love you, daddy!').

It was only after telling daddy twice that he loved him that he finally realized he had a mommy and said 'I love you, mommy.'

Oh, well...

I have started going to Weight Watchers again. I left last October when we moved from Tucson to Albuquerque. My (old) company had an 'at-work' program and I just found out that my new company does too.

Wish me luck.

The Official Interview Game

I volunteered for this game at Sarah's who found it at Leggy's .

Anyone want to play? See the rules after my answers.

1. Tell about a time you were really embarrassed by something.

I was arrested. Sheesh, I am embarrassed just writing this. I was handcuffed and led out to a car right in front of my neighbors and everything. This was not a good time in my life. It all turned out okay for me, mostly...I was just kind of caught in a bad situation...but it really sucked (and still does) for someone I care about. I am and always have been such a goody-two-shoes that this is the kind of thing that my mind just blocks out. This all happened 10 years ago and it still bothers me/embarrasses me to think about.

Can't believe I am even writing about this.

2. What do you do when you need to nurture yourself and how often do you give yourself permission?

This is actually quite hard for me to come up with. I probably need to do something just for me more often. The best I can come up with right now is to take a nice hot bubble bath with lots of smelly stuff in the water. Ahhh...I feel better just thinking about it. Haven't done this in a while, though.

After this crappy week, maybe it is time.

3. Which superhero do you like the best and why?

I read a lot of comics when I was a kid and liked Spiderman, Thor, and the Fantastic Four probably the best. Of those three I would guess probably Spiderman. He was more human. Not like Superman who seemed to have few problems (okay...there was the whole Lois Lane and the kryptonite thing, but that seemed really secondary). Spiderman, though, was this geeky kid (like me) who liked science (like me) and had lots of problems with relationships (like me).

4. Are you there yet?

No. To be really sappy and all, life is a journey, not a destination so I don't think I will ever be there. Sometimes I wish I were travelling faster, though. This week really sucked.

5. Tell about a goal you set for yourself that you have acheived.

I would probably say that I got my college diploma. I am the first in my immediate family to actually get a four year degree (not including my SIL, but she doesn't count...she's not really related tho' I love her like a sister...). It took me a while. I would go to school for a while, then drop out, and dink around a bit; then change majors, go for a while, drop out, dink around for a bit...repeat. I think I nearly set a record (took me almost 20 years), but I finally have that paper calling me a college grad-oooo-ate.

Cats

What is it about cats? I have always loved them. I love their independence. I love how soft their fur is. I love their cute little faces.

There is something about holding a purring cat that is so very calming.

I have been feeling very sad lately. This morning was very bad. Before I left for work I was in the closet where my cat likes to hide. She is 15 years old and getting very frail. She can't jump on anything anymore. I had a vet tell me she thought that Gemma had arthritis in her back. She has always had the loudest purr of just about any cat I have ever had. Anyway, feeling very sad, I bent down and began petting a very loudly purring Gem.

It made me feel better.

Too funny

I love this. It is just too funny...

Have your speakers on.
